REVENUE TRENDS

The state’s total revenue receipts have grown by more than three times in the period 1990-91 to 1999-2000, presently standing at about Rs.13805 Cr.. Own revenues  (tax + non-tax) registered a growth rate of 13.83% while central transfers recorded 12.15% during the same period. The trend of revenue receipts with respect to the state’s GSDP has been shown in table.

Madhya Pradesh’s performance in revenue mobilisation has been better than the all India average, as exhibited by the following figures.
